Anger Management Education is a class that is designed to help explore root causes of uncontrolled anger and help the client with discovering healthy coping strategies for that anger. This class is offered virtually in an 8-hour, a 6-hour, and a 4-hour format, taught by a certified anger management specialist.
Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) is a class that is designed to help change the belief structure of those who batter, by challenging core beliefs and having the batterer take accountability of their choices and find a better way to communicate in future relationships. The class is typically 18 or 27 weeks long with an intake included, however if an extended length is needed the curriculum can be adjusted to accommodate court orders. We offer multiple class options and times to fit a working schedule.
My name is Thomas Wood, I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. I attended Tarrant County College where I received an associate degree before transferring to Texas Tech University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. I worked as a probation officer in Ellis, Parker, and Tarrant County respectively for over eight years. It was during my time in Tarrant County where I worked on the intimate partner violence (IPV) caseload where I fostered my belief in the curriculum that was being taught in the Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP). I was truly inspired by the change that I witnessed in the people that took this class. Through this inspiration I decided that I would become a facilitator of BIPP and became accredited through the Criminal Justice Assistance Division (CJAD) to become a BIPP provider and am certified in the Duluth Model of curriculum. I am also a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS1) through the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) to teach anger management education. I have a strong belief in education and want to see people succeed, not only in class, but in life.
