About Me
My name is Thomas Wood, I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. I attended Tarrant County College where I received an associate degree before transferring to Texas Tech University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. I worked as a probation officer in Ellis, Parker, and Tarrant County respectively for over eight years. It was during my time in Tarrant County where I worked on the intimate partner violence (IPV) caseload where I fostered my belief in the curriculum that was being taught in the Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP). I was truly inspired by the change that I witnessed in the people that took this class. Through this inspiration I decided that I would become a facilitator of BIPP and became accredited through the Criminal Justice Assistance Division (CJAD) to become a BIPP provider and am certified in the Duluth Model of curriculum. I am also a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS1) through the National Anger Management Association (NAMA) to teach anger management education. I have a strong belief in education and want to see people succeed, not only in class, but in life.
